A hugely important win for Piacenza, who beat Caldiero Terme at the Garilli at the end of a splendid match decided by a late brace from Capelli.
In defence, Milani got a starting place, while the midfield playmaking was entrusted to the pairing of Mazzaglia and Poledri. Up front, Mustacchio supported Raffini. In the 11th minute, the hosts took the lead: a corner from Poledri and a winning touch from Bakayoko in a scramble. It was the centre-back's first goal in red and white. Shortly before the half-hour mark, the visitors came very close through their former player Castelli, whose rocket of a free kick was kept out by the crossbar.
In the 61st minute the visitors equalised with a set-piece shot from Baldani. Franzini's lads did not give up and, between the 78th and 80th minutes, struck twice through Capelli. The number 99 first scored by making the most of a cross from Mustacchio on the right, then added a second by smashing into the net a ball that had come back off the post after a touch from Mustacchio.
The red and whites will be back in action on Sunday at 2:30 pm for the away match at Pro Palazzolo.
